Dr. Valerie Arnold (MEMPHIS), and Dr. Michelle Cochran (NASHVILLE) represented Tennessee Psychiatric Association during the American Psychiatric Association Assembly meeting on November 1-3, 2024 in Chantilly, VA. Two Action papers written by Dr. Cochran and other psychiatrists in Area 5 (the APA division which includes Tennessee) were passed and will lead to action by the APA to 1) develop a position statement on VNS, and 2) develop resource documents and a position about esketamine and ketamine for the treatment of mental illness. These actions are the best mental health advocacy for Tennessee Psychiatrists.
