OPIOID Abatement Council Meeting featuring TPA’s Vice President

The Opioid Abatement Council successfully convened in Nashville December 1, 2025 for its regularly scheduled public meeting.

Highlights from the meeting included an update on current and preliminary statewide overdose data from the Tennessee Department of Health and an update from Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Statewide Planning & Policy Council Needs Assessment.

Dr. Ron Cowan, the current TPA VP and Department chair at UTHSC Dept of Psychiatry in Memphis, TN, is now a part of the Council.
